Maths
Here at Ancora House School Maths is taught to all learners. Whatever the learner's past experience of maths is our aim is to build their confidence and for them to make progress. We aim to make learning maths an enjoyable and rewarding experience, one that has a positive impact on their future.
As a team we work alongside the learner's home school or college to ensure that each individual feels connected with their peers and makes progress. Since the Covid 19 Pandemic, many learners now have online access to work set by their home school or college, making the process quicker.
All of our learners have the opportunity to experience success and are able to take their maths exams here whilst in hospital, or back in their home school or college.
We are a team of enthusiastic maths specialists who provide targeted support to all learners no matter what their level or experience. We work with learners on a 1:1 basis, in small academic groups or as a larger ward group where we explore everyday maths (see document below).
In the words of a former A-level learner:
"Thank you for all your help with maths and for helping me to keep up with it. I appreciate that you believed I could do it when I didn't."
