Exams Information and Results

Exams:

Ancora House School is a registered exams centre for GCSE and A Level examination. If a young person is due to sit their exams whilst at Ancora House, we can arrange a transfer of candidacy to enable the learner to sit their exams with us.

Exam Results:

On admission, the Education team assess the extent to which medical / mental health difficulties impact on each learner's cognitions and readiness to sit exams and take appropriate steps according to JCQ guidelines

2021-2022

Ancora House - Summer 2022 Entries

During the Summer 2022 term Ancora House Hospital site entered one student for GCSE exams who achieved the below results

Ancora House School- Hospital site:

There were 5 students who sat exams as transferred candidates at the Hospital site during the summer term who achieved the following:

Ancora House School- community site:

8 year 11 students who were on roll at the community site achieved the following:

5 students achieved 4 or more GCSE's

2020-2021

Ancora House School - community site:

7 of the 8 Year 11 students were entered for a total of 26 GCSE exams in Maths, English and Science

5 students achieved GCSEs in both English Language and Maths

58% of the GCSEs achieved were at grade 4 or above

47% of the above were at grade 5 or above

63% of students achieved 4 or 5 GCSE qualifications

Ancora House School - hospital site:

For those students who were at Ancora House School for a period of time (longer than 3 weeks) during the academic year and were discharged prior to exams, the following achievements were recorded:

Year 11

During this academic year there were 17 students

15 students were entered for GCSE exams through their home school, 2 students are repeating Yr 11

64% of the GCSEs achieved were at grade 4 or above

60% of the students achieved 5 or more GCSE qualifications

47% of the students achieved 5 or more including Maths and English Language

27% of the students achieved 9 or more GCSE qualifications

Year 12 – Re-sit

During the summer exam period there were 4 Year 12 students at Ancora House who achieved the following:

Year 13

During this academic year there were 3 Year 13 students who achieved the following:

2 students achieved 3 A Levels all grade A - C

1 student achieved 2 A Levels all grade A - C

1 student achieved BTEC level 3 in Health and social care - PASS

1 student achieved NVQ level 2 in Instructing Exercise and Fitness - PASS

2019-2020

Ancora House School - community site

4 of the 6 Year 11 students were entered for a total of 20 GCSE exams in Maths, English and Science 

4 students achieved 5 GCSEs

The results of 3 students were all grade 4 or above

Ancora House School - hospital site:

Year 11

During the summer exam period there was 1 Year 11 student at Ancora House

The student was awarded GCSE in Maths, English Language and Science

Year 12 Re-sit

During the summer exam period there were 5 Year 12 students at Ancora House . For those students who were at Ancora House School for a period of time (longer than 4 weeks) during the academic year and were discharged prior to exams, the following achievements were recorded:

Year 11

During this academic year there were 18 Year 11 students who attended the school , 16 of these students sat exams and achieved the following:

9 out of the 16 students who were entered achieved 5 or more GCSEs

Year 13

During this academic year there were 5 Year 13 students who sat exams and achieved the following:

1 student achieved 3 A Levels all at grade A

1 student achieved 2 A Levels at grade B and C

1 student achieved 1 A Levels at grade C

1 student achieved BTEC level 3 in Product Design – Distinction

1 student achieved BTEC level 3 in Public Services - Distinction
