Careers Offer Year 7 - 13
Our careers offer is specifically designed to support young people who are experiencing mental health challenges, recognising the significant impact this can have on their aspirations, engagement and decision‑making. We provide a flexible, trauma‑informed and highly personalised careers programme that prioritises emotional safety, confidence‑building, and manageable, realistic goal‑setting.
Through trusted relationships, we create a supportive environment where students feel understood and able to explore their futures without pressure; discussions are often informal and happen during lessons or 1:1s and relevant information is shared sensitively with the wider staff team to ensure a consistent and coordinated approach, enabling all staff to understand each young person’s needs and effectively support their goals, progress and wellbeing. Our approach emphasises small, achievable steps, helping young people to re‑engage, build resilience and develop a sense of self‑belief.
We carefully tailor experiences and opportunities to individual needs, including differentiated guidance and supported encounters, or visits, with future education providers or employers and gradual exposure to next‑step pathways. This enables students to explore options at a pace that feels safe, reduces anxiety around transition, and make positive, informed choices about next steps.
