Welcome to Ancora House School Community Provision - Castle Park

Ancora Hub is part of Ancora House School, we are based at  Castle Park House, Frodsham. The Hub provides a range of educational support for young people within the Cheshire West and Chester locality who cannot attend their home school due to medical needs. The Hub offers core subjects; English, Maths, Science ,PHSCE, Careers as well as a variety of different wellbeing and skill based groups including STEM and Art.

In addition to our curriculum some young people may be offered access to emotional literacy support (ELSA) from our qualified advisor.

The Hub operates between 10.00am and 3.00pm, young people attend on a needs led basis, some young people access fulltime  whilst others access certain elements of the provision.

Students are referred to the Access and Outreach Team by their home school for Medical Needs education. Schools can also refer directly for short term targeted interventions which may either take place within the Hub or on an outreach basis.

Careers and Transitions Support at Ancora House Learning Hub

At Ancora House Learning Hub we have a dedicated Careers Adviser/Education Transitions Worker.

All Pupils at Ancora House Learning Hub are entitled to high quality CEIAG that provides them with an understanding of the world of work, helps them to explore all of their career options and supports them to make informed decisions about their career. Ancora House Learning Hub wants to help all students to make good choices about their future and to equip them with the right knowledge and skills to face the future.

The Careers programme will be individualised to the students. Where appropriate, some aspects of the programme will be delivered in small groups. The careers programme will be delivered in a range of ways: one to one guidance interviews, small group sessions, guest speakers from different career fields, through supported visits to colleges, training providers and other local providers, they may also be supported to attend career fairs in their local area. Students will be supported to use online resources.

The careers programme aims to:

· Develop students understanding of their own skill and abilities

· Look at student strengths and weaknesses

· Help to develop decision making skills

· Assist the understanding of the pathways open after year 11 and beyond

· Provide employability skills like CVs, interview skills and support with producing personal statements

· Offer support to access useful websites and online tools
